Privacy

Folded Space is a trading name of Charles McFarlane, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

I take your privacy seriously and only collect and use personal information where it is necessary to run my business and provide my services.

Information I collect

If you contact me or work with me, I may collect information such as your name, email address, company name and any other information you provide as part of an enquiry or project.

This website does not use its own advertising or analytics tracking cookies.

The website’s hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address and browser request details to deliver and protect the website.

How I use your information

I may use your information to:

Where applicable, I process this information because it is necessary to take steps towards or fulfil a contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, or because I have a legitimate business interest in managing client relationships and operating Folded Space.

Booking, payment and calendars

Bookings are managed through Cal.com, and payments are processed through Stripe. Information you provide when booking, including your contact details and answers about your learning goals, is used to arrange and deliver your session.

Cal.com checks availability against my connected iCloud and Google calendars. Booking details are added to my iCloud calendar to help me manage and deliver your session.

Privacy during training sessions

I treat information, projects and materials you share during training as confidential. I use them to deliver your session and any agreed follow-up, and do not publish them or use them in marketing without your permission.

Sessions take place through Cal Video or Google Meet. These providers process information needed to operate the call, which may include audio, video, screen sharing, chat and technical connection data. Cal Video uses Daily’s video infrastructure.

Other than processing by the service providers described in this notice, I only disclose confidential session information with your permission or where required by law.

Session recordings and notes

Recording is optional and switched off by default. I will ask for your agreement before recording starts. You can decline without affecting your training, or ask me to stop recording at any time.

Recordings are made to give you a reference to the topics and techniques covered. I may also review them to answer your questions or support further training. Depending on what is shared during the session, recordings may include your voice, image, screen and project materials.

I may keep brief written notes about your learning goals, topics covered and agreed next steps. Saved transcription and AI meeting notes are not enabled by default.

Recordings and notes are treated as confidential. Access is restricted to me and, where shared, the learner concerned, except for service providers processing or storing the information, or disclosures required by law. I do not publish these materials or use them for marketing without separate permission.

Where recordings are stored

Recordings normally remain with the video provider. I do not routinely download a separate archive copy.

I may download a recording where needed for a specific task, such as preparing a shorter excerpt you have requested. Any downloaded recording or edited copy is subject to the same confidentiality arrangements.

Video and storage providers may apply their own retention periods, automatic deletion rules and backup arrangements. Provider-hosted recordings or sharing links may expire, and deleting a recording from active storage does not necessarily remove provider backup copies immediately.

Recording availability

Recordings are provided for your personal learning and reference, not as a permanent archive. Where a recording is available to download, please save your own copy promptly if you wish to keep it.

I may delete recordings as part of routine storage management or when they are no longer needed for learning support or agreed follow-up. Unless we expressly agree otherwise, I do not guarantee a minimum availability period or that an old recording can be recovered.

You can withdraw your agreement to continued storage of a recording or request deletion by contacting [email protected]. If a legal obligation requires me to retain particular information, I will explain any applicable restriction.

Embedded content

Portfolio videos on this website are hosted by YouTube.

Embedded portfolio videos are not loaded automatically when you visit the website or open a video overlay. They are only loaded when you press Play in the overlay. When you choose to play embedded content, YouTube may receive information about your visit and may use cookies or similar storage and access technologies in accordance with its own privacy policies.

YouTube is identified beside the Play control before you choose to load it. Videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embedding mode; this does not mean that YouTube collects no information. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

External links

This website may contain links to external websites, including client websites and social-media services. Following one of these links will take you to a website operated by another organisation. Folded Space is not responsible for the privacy practices, cookies or similar technologies used by those external websites.

Sharing your information

I do not sell your personal information.

I may use trusted third-party services where necessary to operate my business and provide my services, such as email, cloud storage, file-transfer, hosting, accounting or payment services. These providers may process information as part of providing those services.

Business email is provided by Namecheap Private Email. Messages and contact information are processed by that service when you email me.

Booking and payment pages are external services. This website does not load Cal.com or Stripe content before you follow a booking link.

For information about each provider’s processing, see the privacy policies for Cal.com, Stripe, Apple (iCloud), Google, Daily, Namecheap and Cloudflare.

How long I keep your information

I keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing ongoing support, maintaining appropriate project and business records, and meeting legal, accounting or tax requirements.

Your rights

Under UK data-protection law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including rights to access, correct or erase information I hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain uses of it.

If you have a question about your information or would like to exercise one of these rights, please contact me at [email protected].

You also have the right to raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Changes to this notice

I may update this privacy notice if the way Folded Space collects or uses personal information changes.
