Understand the movement, not just the settings

Motion gives you several ways to animate. We can compare keyframes and behaviours, explore timing and easing, and consider how layers, groups and masks affect the result.

For experienced learners, a lesson can centre on a specific technique or template problem. Share what you have already tried and the behaviour you want to achieve; we can work through the structure together.

  • Animate text and graphic elements with clear timing
  • Combine layers, masks and effects into an understandable project
  • Use behaviours and keyframes deliberately
  • Organise a composition so it is easier to revise and reuse

Create tools for your Final Cut Pro workflow

A reusable template is more than a finished animation. It needs to be useful when you return to it with different footage, text or branding. Learn to decide which controls an editor should be able to change and how to publish those controls to Final Cut Pro.

We can work on the structure of a title, lower third, effect or transition, and test how the choices behave in an edit. The lesson focuses on your understanding and practice; commissioned template production is a separate service.

  • Build a reusable title or graphic as a learning exercise
  • Expose useful editable controls
  • Consider text changes, layout and animation timing
  • Test a template in the editing workflow it is intended for

Learn to create your own branded graphics

Build the skills to create titles, lower thirds, callouts and reusable graphics that feel like your channel.

We can work towards a simple example during your session, such as a basic lower third, while exploring techniques you can develop further in your own time.

The focus is on learning how to create and adapt your own assets. A complete, polished template or brand pack usually requires additional work beyond the lesson.

Your questions

Is this suitable if I already use Motion?

Yes. Share your experience and a specific goal before booking so we can focus on a technique or workflow rather than repeat the basics.

Will I leave with a finished template pack?

The focus is tuition. We may develop a simple example together, but a polished template pack usually needs further design, testing and production beyond a lesson.

Can we work through a problem in my project?

Yes—tell me what’s happening and what you’d like to achieve. We can investigate it together and explore possible solutions. Some issues depend on the source files, software or hardware, so a specific fix can’t be guaranteed.

Online sessions are available internationally. Scheduling is flexible by agreement; discuss your availability and learning goals before booking.

Watched tutorials and still feel lost?

You’re not alone. Following someone else’s steps is one thing; knowing how to apply them to your own project is another.

We’ll start with what you already know and what you want to create. Ask questions, fill in the gaps and explore different approaches with someone who can adapt the explanation to you.

Whether you’re learning the basics or developing a specific technique, the aim is to help you understand your tools and make confident creative decisions.
