One-to-one Premiere training

Build confidence in Premiere with practical, personalised tuition. Learn to organise footage, shape an edit and develop a workflow that fits the videos you want to make.

Find your session

A clear starting point for your edit

A growing project is easier to work with when you can find the material you need. We can organise footage into bins, make sense of sequences and establish a structure that suits the way you shoot and edit.

Premiere, formerly known as Premiere Pro, can support many different kinds of video. Rather than cover every tool, we’ll choose a useful starting point based on your experience and the videos you want to make.

  • Organise footage and identify useful takes
  • Understand sequences and the relationship to your source clips
  • Build an assembly that is easy to review
  • Keep versions and revisions manageable

Shape a story, one decision at a time

Editing is about choosing what the audience sees and hears, and when. We can look at the structure of your sequence, try different cuts and discuss how timing changes the meaning or energy of a scene.

Bring your own project to make those choices concrete. We can work through a section together, or use a guided exercise if you would prefer to practise away from a live deadline. Ask questions as we go; the explanation and pace can adapt to you.

  • Refine pacing and transitions between ideas
  • Balance dialogue, music and other sound
  • Add useful titles without losing the focus of the video
  • Explore basic colour adjustments and consistency between shots

Build a workflow you can return to

A useful lesson connects the edit to the finished output. We can consider the destination of your video, prepare an export and understand the settings relevant to YouTube, social media or delivery to a client.

If you already edit, we can concentrate on a stage that feels slow or uncertain. Tell me about your software version, current process and goals so we can agree a practical focus, whether that is organising a project, reviewing an edit or preparing different versions.

  • Prepare exports for YouTube, social media and clients
  • Consider frame size, format and delivery requirements
  • Develop repeatable steps around your own projects
  • Identify what to practise after the lesson

Your questions

Can I bring footage from my own project?

Yes. Tell me what you are working on and what you want to learn. We can use your project as a starting point or choose a guided example that covers the relevant techniques.

Can I learn animation alongside editing?

We can cover titles and editing-related techniques in Premiere. For more focused animation and motion-design tuition, explore the related After Effects training page.

Can we work through a problem in my project?

Yes—tell me what’s happening and what you’d like to achieve. We can investigate it together and explore possible solutions. Some issues depend on the source files, software or hardware, so a specific fix can’t be guaranteed.

Online sessions are available internationally. Scheduling is flexible by agreement; discuss your availability and learning goals before booking.

Watched tutorials and still feel lost?

You’re not alone. Following someone else’s steps is one thing; knowing how to apply them to your own project is another.

We’ll start with what you already know and what you want to create. Ask questions, fill in the gaps and explore different approaches with someone who can adapt the explanation to you.

Whether you’re learning the basics or developing a specific technique, the aim is to help you understand your tools and make confident creative decisions.
